To our Scholars-
Welcome to the (slightly delayed!) kickoff to the SWEATADAY™ Scholars challenge. And, also, let me be the first to welcome you to the extended #SWEATADAY fam. I know this is a bit of an unconventional scholarship opportunity, but that’s exactly why I wanted to do it. I believe wholeheartedly in movement.
I also spent MANY years in academia (I got all the way to 24th grade!) and absolutely love being a student. For me, movement and education go hand in hand. As you start your journey towards college, I want to help you integrate movement into your daily life, whether or not you’re on a sports team.
I know you are in the beginning of your senior year with all kinds of madness happening (college applications, last year of classes at this school, all the proms and events and, of course, senioritis), so it’s so great that you are dedicating a little extra time to be a part of this challenge. And, there’s a pretty sweet reward for the winner at the end!

To any parents, caretakers, coaches, teachers, administrators-
I want to welcome you as well! If there is a scholar that you think should be part of this challenge, please let us know!
If you know of students that are not yet seniors in high school, they are still welcome to do the daily movement challenges with us, even if they are not eligible for the scholarship. Oh, and, the same goes for you as well! You are welcome to join to support your favorite Scholars.
To the rest of the SWEATADAY™ community-
Please join us for the movement challenges. Support the Scholars. I’m sure you remember how awesome it was to have people supporting you throughout a given month’s challenges back in the early days of #SWEATADAY. Now is your chance to do the same for someone else.
HOW THIS WORKS
Each month will have a theme. You will have some sort of an assignment to go along with that theme. It may be a photo, video, short written submission or something of the sort. This just needs to be submitted before the end of the month.
Each day, I will post movement challenges on my Instagram channel like the one below.
You can choose to do the exact movements I show or a variation that works for you.
THE GOAL
Your goals for this challenge are to:
Let’s be clear. That last one: “do well in school” is your priority. NEVER let any of the assignments or tasks we give you here get in the way of your schoolwork. The hope is more that you start to figure out how to incorporate movement into your daily lives so that you are even more prepared to do all of your work. You shouldn’t need to spend more than about 10 minutes on any one of the daily exercises. The monthly assignments can be broken up over the course of the month so that, again, you aren’t spending any more than a few minutes a day on each. Think about 10 minutes a day for at least 20 out of 30 days [10/20/30].
Let’s continue to be clear. You need to follow all the rules at your school and in your house about using your phones/social media/internet. No exceptions.
We will be looking for consistency and creativity as well as how you consider the 5 pillars and incorporate the monthly theme in your posts.
We’ll be looking for Get your families involved, your teammates, your cheer squad, your fellow students, administrators, teachers, etc. Spread the movement love.
